Phase 1
I found an old sketch I set aside, which I never got around to rendering. This drawing was inspired by a character in Michelle Hauf's book "Gossamyr". |
Phase 2
Outlined in ink!
|
Phase 3
Shaded-in the gargoyle. |
Phase 4
Shaded-in torso, head, hair
Blocked in smoke except parts that overlap the halo around the head, where they are just Shaded-in. This gives the illustion that the halo glows.
I'm not too happy with how the face turned out. I'll have to change parts of it as I go along. |
Phase 5
His right shoulder was disproportionate (smaller compared to the left one) so I bulked it up by covering the wrong lines with white ink & then inking over with the right lines.
Shaded-in wings & jeans.
Added shadow around the eyes & cheeks. Also darkened the lips. Did not turn out well. I'll have to lighten some areas next.
|
Phase 6
Lightened areas around the eyes, cheeks & mouth again by covering some lines with white ink. Now I've got the face I wanted.
Added outline for the background. |
Phase 7
Shaded-in the background.
Finished. |
