Artist
I'm Aileen Oracion, aspiring artist. I love to draw & design - I can't help it, it's who I am!
I like to think that my work has a lot in common with the stuff that makes up fairy tales because they're based on thought / imagination. I stay away from realism because I am an individualist & would tend to create art that are not copies of things commonly seen or experienced.
My work is a product of self-instruction. I am actually a Business Management graduate, which has not been put to waste because I run my business, Big Ben Watches. I am considering a course in Illustration in a year or so.
I appreciate figures, especially if they are drawn in such a way that their poses are expressive, dynamic & graceful. I also admire illustrations that have simple lines, few elements but have a lot of character.
My favorite artists & influences, just to name a few, are: Burne Hogarth, Harry Clarke, Yoshitaka Amano, Sandro Botticelli, Romain de Tirtoff (Erte), Michelangelo... the list goes on. I draw inspiration from mythology, manga/comics, folklore & art communities like Manga Workshop, Elfwood & Deviant Art.
You'll know a lot more about me at my personal website, Artistique Ilustra.
